I also was in Seattle during the grunge scene! I was a grunge-y hipster chick in my early 20's working at the coolest record store in Seattle at the time (1992-1996). It's probably the only time in my life where I could claim being cool-adjacent. (One standout moment: being asked out on a date by Mike McCready!) So many of those bands shopped at the store, were regulars, all of them very nice, and I am good friends with one guy in particular to this day who I imagine was interviewed for that book. So many memories, so many shows! It was the funnest time of my life and my entire current social network in Seattle is connected to that record store, so I am ever grateful.

Argh, amazing!!! I am so jealous of you guys. What an amazing vibe to experience first hand. Also nice that you're still so connected to that community of people. And congrats on Mike McCready, a stellar accomplishment!!!

I grew up in Seattle in the 90’s and I’m so nostalgic for that time. I often wonder what the grunge scene was like from the outside. It was all encompassing with concerts and radio. I was glued to my radio. I’ve seen almost all of the best bands at “Endfest” alone over the years. It was great and a time that will never be replicated.

Ugh, what a time to be alive! You must have had such a great inside feel. The book describes that era as the 'last hurrah' before the music industry basically broke. I'm finding so much inspiration from it at the moment!
