I’ve reached the stage of pregnancy where I’m allowed to up my daily calorie intake to fatten up my little offspring. Ideally this would be nuts and vegetables and all the healthy things, but this isn’t an ideal world so I’m currently on my second Orange Club of the day. I’ve been spending lots of time at home over the last few days as we’ve started rearranging the rooms, decluttering and making IKEA wishlists in preparation for the new babe. Nesting mode has been 100% activated.
On Sunday, I wandered into Olive’s room and caught sight of a pigeon in the garden, before doing a double take and realising it was a beautiful sparrowhawk! The garden birds had fallen completely silent except for one brave soul sounding the alarm. It sat on one of the raised beds, basking in the sun, for about twenty minutes before flying off again, and only a few minutes later, the feeders were once again full of birds, the temptation of crunchy seeds superseding the fear of death.
I’m working on some really lovely projects at the moment - mostly book-related - but I’m also excited to announce that I will be temporarily reopening my online shop in early November! I closed it earlier in the year because pregnancy was sapping me of all my spare energy, but I definitely want to offer a few things in time for Christmas. The full range of cards and stationery won’t be available this time round, but I’ll have a big selection of prints for sale, and I’m hoping to have the shop fully up-and-running again sometime in the new year.
