How I Make an Income as a Writer & Illustrator

I mentioned in my last freelance post that I like to be transparent with money. I’ve never understood the weird taboo around talking about money, as if our financial status is somehow a reflection of our character. As a writer and illustrator, I am fascinated by how other creatives earn a living, particularly in a world where creative work is so often underfunded, underpaid and underrated. So as part of my month celebrating five years as a freelancer, I thought I’d share a little more about my own income and how exactly I pay my bills.
