I recently logged into my old Wordpress blog and had loads of fun skimming through more than 200 posts dating right back to my college days! I thought I’d share a few of my favourites here - starting with this post from August 2017. When I was working at Butser Ancient Farm, I became very interested in the Heritage Crafts Association’s Red List of Endangered Crafts. I tried out making a coracle, carving a wooden spoon and blacksmithing, and I really wanted to carry on with a few more but once I left my job, it was difficult to find the time. I also pitched the idea as a column to a few magazines but it wasn’t picked up, which I think is a real shame! Maybe I’ll try again… Anyway, here is my experience of blacksmithing. I loved it!
