A New Chapter
Welcome, welcome! Thank you so much for joining me on this brand new project. It’s one I feel very excited about, and if you’re reading this it means you’re hopefully intrigued by it, too. So thank you! As you already know, the aim of this project is to share my work with more freedom and authenticity. It came about because of a few reasons which I’d like to be honest about, so you might want to grab a coffee for this post as it could be a long one.
It all started when…
I became a mother in 2020. I’d always been adamant about keeping my creative career going through parenthood, even if I only managed a couple of hours a week. This was much easier in the early days when Olive slept all the time, but over the last few months she has, understandably, required more of my time as we spend our days together. She started forest school this week which means I now have two days a week to myself for the first time in two years! But you may have seen that we’re also (happily) expecting our second babe in January, which means I’ve been reflecting a lot recently on how I can find more time to keep my own creative identity without a) burning out and b) neglecting my lovely babes. Within these reflections, I kept finding myself returning to the same thoughts that first drove me to take a seemingly ‘drastic’ decision in 2018: To delete all my social media accounts.
