A is for Anteater
Over the bank holiday weekend we went to a birthday party for one of Olive’s little friends. Party rings, popping balloons and a paper cup full of prosecco - not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning. The birthday girl’s name began with A, so I painted her a letter A accompanied by a giant anteater. Her family have roots in South America so the anteater seemed a good choice, and she also really likes pink so I opted for a pink-to-purple colour palette, which I thought complimented the grey tones of the anteater nicely. It was a lovely excuse to use some of the cotton rag paper I bought in the gift shop at the V&A last year, which is soft and roughly textured, and very enjoyable to smother with paint.
